It's almost upon us!

Well the pageant has come and gone so we know Santa is in town and is busy preparing for the big annual Xmas present delivery. I don't know about you but I'm not ready for the big day yet! Lucky me has scored hosting the Xmas lunch (AGAIN) this year and I haven't even ordered the pork or ham yet, so I'd better start getting my act together. No turkey to stuff, thank goodness.
I do however, have to contact Santa to make sure he visits our place with a special present for our 5 year old grandson, Jack. At that age it's still wonderful to see their little faces light up at the gifts they receive, even if sometimes it's not exactly what they wanted. Sadly the same thing can't be said for some adults we may know. I get fed up with buying stuff the recipient probably won't like, and then smiling gratefully at some (supposedly useful must have) item that I receive in return. I sometimes think it's better to just buy special presents for the youngsters but I'd also be happy with some bubbly or wine. It works for me!
TIME AND SPACE SAVING XMAS COOKING TIP:
Prepare all your roasting vegies the day before and instead of taking up lots of space in your fridge, (which by then is overflowing with extra food, and drinks) put them all in a large snap lock bag, add a small amount of oil (garlic is optional) and then lay it flat on your fridge shelf. I used to think I had to put them aside in a big cumbersome bowl of water to keep them in readiness for cooking, but the plastic bag works better. Saves space and time!
NB: It goes without saying you have to remove the vegies from the bag, before cooking.

Sad news at our Aberfoyle Park Salon

We are unable to offer Beauty or Nail services gift vouchers for Xmas this year because unfortunately Sharon from La Shae Total Beauty (our in-house beauty services provider) has decided to change her working conditions to much shorter hours. After Xmas she will only be working part-time from home, so sadly we have to seek a replacement sub-tenant for our large private beauty room and the two nail tables work area.
For clients who love to have all their hair and beauty/nail needs taken care of under one roof, rest assured I will find the right experienced professional people to look after you in the future.
I wish to thank Sharon (and her staff) for being such fantastic work colleagues for the last 5 years and wish Sharon all the best for her SEMI-retirement.

How to get smoother, shinier, more manageable
hair like you've always wanted

You may recall the news about the fabulous new Keratin smoothing treatment taking our industry by storm.
Well I'm pleased to say I have managed to secure some additional supplies of this great new product at a reduced price. If you have hair similar to the picture on the left (before the Keratin treatment) and would prefer to have hair that looks more like the one on the right, in the 'after' picture then READ ON!
This great new service turns dull, wild and untamed hair into the shiny, frizz free, manageable hair you've always wanted. Dust off your hats - it's almost 'Cup Day'

I can't believe it's almost Melbourne Cup time again, I must be getting old (LOL). After my little bout of ill health last year I don't worry so much about time passing too quickly, because I've realised every day is a 'good' day and it's a waste of time and energy getting stressed out about trival matters.
These days I try not to sweat the small stuff. (not as much as I used to anyway)
But now for the fun time. A Melbourne Cup lunch is a good excuse to dust off the glad rags, tart ourselves up a bit and just chill out for a few hours (because we deserve it). Of course your 'look' wouldn't be complete without nice hair, so if you haven't made your booking yet, you may want to think about it fairly soon, because unless your hat (if you're going to wear one) is huge, some hair will still be visible, so don't ruin your total look by overlooking your hairstyle. |

It's less than 12 weeks to Xmas.
If you have a regular hair appointment (approx every 7 weeks) that means you have to think about your Xmas bookings very soon. Don't laugh, I'm serious!
You would be surprised how many clients get disappointed during the 'silly season' because they can't get in for an appointment on a particular day or time with their preferred stylist, because they are already booked out.
Next time you're in the salon ask the girls to book your Xmas appointment so that's one less thing you have to worry about at that busy time of the year, and then, (lucky you) will be free to 'stress' about the seemingly endless amount of other things you have to do. |

Do you suffer from unruly hair too?

If my fringe (in particular) comes into contact with moist, damp air it goes completely out of control and looks more like a bikini line in need of a wax, rather than just needing a blow dry with a big round brush or a quick go over with my trusty ghd's. You should have seen my hair the first time I went to Bali. LOL
I just had to use that 'text speak' acronym because I only just learnt what it meant. I thought it meant 'Lots of Love' so I thought a bloke I know was getting a bit too friendly with me until I found out it actually meant 'Laugh out Loud' WHO KNEW! LOL
If you too have unruly, fluffy, fuzzy, wavy, curly, boofy or just plain unmanageable hair, (that you don't particularly like) and it also takes ages to dry and style, then read on.

You may recall from previous Newsletters that we had to discontinue doing the non chemical 'Keratin' smoothing straightening service because of unsafe levels of Formaldehyde that were found in the original product.
The great news is that we have now tested a new safe Formaldehyde free 'Keratin' product and I'm happy to report that the results are absolutely amazing. Our models came in with wild untamed hair (which they hated) and they left with gorgeous straight, shiny and oh so sexy, soft sleek hair.
