A TRUE STORY YOU MIGHT RELATE TO
Many years ago when I moved 'down south' I had to find a new dentist closer to home, I don't know about you, but sometimes I  find it very stressful going to someone new for a personal service, let alone the dreaded dentist visit. All went well until I was in the chair with my mouth clamped open (and don't you hate it when they talk to you, and seem to expect an audible response) when the dentist started casually chatting to his assistant about the state of my teeth. He went on to say (to her, not me) that I obviously didn't have a good brushing technique and I should get a lesson in improving my dental hygiene. I felt myself going red all over with embarrassment, and I wanted to leap out of the chair and run. He then proceeded to put some sort of red dye in my mouth and show me (and the assistant) the build up of plaque. He then gave me a tooth brush and made me brush my teeth for several minutes. It seemed to take forever (with them both watching me like I was a naughty school girl) before they were cleaned to his satisfaction and he could proceed. 

By the way, I had to stop myself from taking a leaf out of his book and commenting (in retaliation) about his awful haircut and the copious amount of dandruff flakes plainly visible on the shoulders of his navy blue work shirt. After he was finished I couldn't slink out of there quick enough and needless to say, I never went back again. My point is this: If he had approached my poor cleaning technique in a different manner that didn't make me feel so embarrassed, I might have forgiven his obvious lack of professionalism and given him another chance. I did however get something out of that first (and last) awful visit, I now have a better cleaning technique and my new dentist never makes me feel uncomfortable.

NB: SADLY, SOMETIMES FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, WE JUST HAVE TO SAY NO!
It is really important  that you let your hairdresser know what chemical/colour services you have had on your hair, because, even though the hair condition may appear okay, the old damage is still there underneath (unless you've had it cut off) so additional chemical/colour services may not be a good idea at that moment. 

Don't be too disappointed if that happens, because at Scamps Hair Studio we promise to make your hair look and feel much better while we take the time to safely get it right, without causing any further damage, or even worse, chemical breakage. We can always achieve the hairstyle and colour you want, but sometimes it just takes a little longer.

If you're stuck in a time warp with your out-dated hairstyle, we can offer lots of suggestions (subtle or dramatic) that will change the way you feel about your hair. Our salon stylists love nothing better than re style make-overs, so get out of the rut and have a change.

Example:  
Most clients need their colour refreshed every 5-7 weeks. This can be a costly exercise, especially if you have foil hi-lights too. We encourage our clients to have a camouflage service, in-between their full colour service. This is a great money saver because you pay much less for this partial service but your colour still looks great all the time. No more ugly regrowth showing so quickly.
